Big News From Google
May 14th, 2008

Google made a major announcement on the Maps API Blog this morning: they have just released a new Maps API for Flash. We’ve been working with our friends at Google on this project for quite some time and this release is very exciting for both companies. The blog post features one of the examples we created during testing/debugging. (Our dreams have come true, we’ve been linked on the Official Google Blog!) Other examples, including another one that we created, can be found here.

Note: This is a separate project from UMap (AS 3.0), which we will continue to develop and support.

    The demo works fine, very smooth. Congratulations!!

    Does this mean we don’t have to go through you guys to get the data anymore? That would be great.

    @Thomas - Thanks!

    @Amy - If you use their API, data comes directly from them.

    Is the API that is being used right now with UMAP and Google Maps the same as the one Google is now offering? If not, what are the key differences between the two? Thanks!
